So this month i thought id run a contest anyone who posts a layout using one of my templates from my shop will get entered into winning 6$ from my shop! here’s a free layout if you would like to use that! simply upload your layout to your favorite photo website like flickr and link it in the comments then i’ll choose one random winner.
I’m so excited i got featured again on pixel scrapper for the month. They chose one of my project life layout for february. you can check out all the other great artist here. This the the layout they featured!
So i’m trying out my hand at designing. Starting small of course. I wanted to join the pixel scrapper blog train this month. Just a way to get my feet wet. I designed this great pink vellum alphabet to go with the colors chosen this month. here’s a peek at the colors for this month’s blog train.
I went with the darker pink and made a great alphabet you can download from dropbox here.
Please let me know if there is any problems with download or quality!
There are two new challenges up in the forums. One is for using a selfie as your photo the other is for using the “wrong” kit for a photos, Like using christmas kit for a summer layout etc. For the selfie challenge i used a photo i made from one of those silly like mirror apps. I love fooling around with all those great filer and effect apps. I mean they are free and just so much fun. I also used the dia de los muertos kit that was on sale for sosn on the lilypad. I love this kit so much. It has so many fun elements and i love skulls so it was a must buy for me.
The second chalange i used an older photo from christmas that i loved but didn’t get scrapped because it didn’t fit into my chirstmas pages anywhere so instead of christmas paper i used this wonderful bright pink paper elements from the scrumptiously bright day kit from pixel scrapper. i also used a bit from the brighten up kit as well. both of these kits are so fun and well bright lol. I love mixing and matching for different kits.
Today i’ll share some links around the web that work with layering. This is always one of my favorite things to do, it really adds dimension to your layouts. While i’m very partial to clustering there more than just that out there!
like making these cute popped up embellishments; because we can never have enough embellishments. you’ll have to hit the translator but the photos are pretty explanatory.
Or you can layer just paper in cool ways like making waves as shown here.
this post from kay’s keepsakes will show you how to make a waterfall element in your pages.
A post from the scrap club shows you how to triple mat a stamp to add more layers.
There us a lot more out there hop over to pinterest and look it up there are scores of great tutorials to get you out of the flat page slumps.
